Back from a weekend with mr namibia, and it's half term. Where I should really be doing som form of work. I have had an idea for a final piece for my art however, from the close up photo of the pink/purple flowers. Just need to work out how to make it work on a larger scale. (But I doubt I'll get much done this week)
On a different note, only a week today til the reel big fish concert, also with mr namibia, so only just over a week to wait between visits this time.

The next bit..

I've got this far, putting more than one flower together, and have found it works best with the same type of flower repeated.
But i'm not sure where to go next.
We have our art exam papers now, rubbish titles. Will probably end up doing 'figures & faces' again (but less face) .. or 'curves' could be interesting.

Been itching to actually draw something for a while, rather than stitch it. had my pointe shoes out, so that's what I did. A bit unfinished and sketchy, but not too bad for having not drawn much in a few months.

More of the pieces like the previous flower, I like doing this, simple colours and creating shade etc. works using just thread here. And flowing lines or spiky forms and all that. Can't find any other artist that does this or similar that I can use for my related study now though.

Also like the one I did put paint on however..

I really do need to think about starting my related study, find an artist or two I can study, and write about 2000 words on, as part of my art coursework. Hmm, needs to be handed in in a few weeks. Apart from that, art going well at the moment, I quite like my sketchbook. Textiles been put on hold slightly while my tutor's ill, and we have a madwoman substituting who knows a lot about the subject, but nothing about our course.
But still, to the boyfriend's at half term, 3 days I won't have to think about worky stuff.

Line drawing with stitch, both me and my tutor like what I am doing at last. Great to get so long to spend on one project. Everyone that has seen this so far has wanted to stroke it; feel free-don't like art galleries telling you to keep hands off. I have yet to see where this method and style will take me...
